The Crooked Thicket Therapists’ Support Events
The Crooked Thicket is a social enterprise where one stream of work is Supporting Emergent and Developing Practitioners of Counselling and Therapy. The Therapists’ Support Events are aiming to offer affordable, regular and local Continuing Professional Development (CPD), (aiming to meet the various professional bodies' CPD criteria), opportunities to meet like-minded practitioners, to share practitioners' issues through peer interaction and to enhance self-care with enough time in a nurturing, safe environment to process through experiential work in relationship. The CPD element will include references to relevant theories and models facilitated by a registered counsellor and registered certified play therapist, who has a PTLLS Level 4 qualification, and other speakers/workshop facilitators will be invited for some events. Access to the outdoors is also a feature to include Taking Therapy Outdoors for practitioners interested in this work. The events are open to those practising, training or interested in development in counselling and other therapies. The workshop based events will mostly be at Gweal an Tops, Redruth, which has some free parking, disabled access and toilets.
