Supervision Information: As a dually qualified Counsellor (BACP) and Certified Play Therapist, I work across the ages from child to adult clients.  I have trained in two supervisions in Play and Creative Arts Therapy (2015) and qualified in a Post Graduate Diploma in Supervision of Counselling and Psychotherapy for Child, Adolescent and Adult (2019). I incorporate 7 models of supervision, which is available for those interested.
I am a supervisor for Play Therapists and Counsellors and I have done some reflective practice supervision for non-clinical staff,  such as have Barnardos (child and adolescents) and a local youth work charity. I work with trainee and qualified Counsellors (for adult, adolescent and child work), play therapists and  other supervisors. I work as a supervisor for a local emotional trauma charity CLEAR (for adults and adolescents), doing some post-qualifying training supervision for child trauma for adult counsellors, online or in my therapy spaces.
Background:  I worked in alternative education for 17 years, followed by  further  years of experience since 2007, in the therapeutic sector.   I qualified in counselling in 2010 and in Play Therapy in early 2013 and have worked with a wide range of  issues, in many placements, settings and services, including Dreadnought, CRASAC, for family support workers, the post adoption team for Cornwall and other counties, the Youth Service, a special needs residential school, mainstream schools, social services and nursery-aged children,  both individually and with families in my private practice.
My work is integrative, with a humanistic base and additional cross-paradigm psychotherapy, including child development, neuroscience,  attachment, dissociation, neuro-diversity and trauma-informed; I am now completing my MA in child and adolescent psychotherapy, with a completed dissertation around neuro-diversity focused on adaptations to therapy for children and young people with PDA traits. I offer additional parent/child work being trained in DDP, Theraplay® and Filial Play Coaching.
I am also part of a team of professionals, ‘Cornwall Play Therapy Associates’, whose aim is to promote the maintenance of the highest professional standards and ethical principles in Cornwall for Play Therapy. I am on two working panels, one for the PDA Society for Safer Practice and the other for Play Therapy UK for EDI (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion).
