Supervision Information: As a dually qualified and registered Counsellor (BACP) and Certified Play Therapist (PTUK), I work across the ages from child to adult clients. I have trained in two supervisions in Play and Creative Arts Therapy (2015) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Supervision of Counselling and Psychotherapy for Child, Adolescent and Adult (2019). I am a supervisor for PTUK trainees and qualified Play Therapists and Therapeutic Play Skills Practitioners, our local counselling college for trainees and qualified Counsellors (for adults, adolescents and children), as a supervisor for a local emotional trauma charity CLEAR (for adults and adolescents) and Barnardos (child and adolescents), a specialist external supervisor for play therapy and an integrative supervisor, in private practice, at present mostly online or outdoors, in my therapy spaces. With a background in alternative education for 17 years, followed by 13 years of experience in the therapeutic sector, I qualified in counselling in 2010 and in Play Therapy in early 2013 and have worked with a wide range of issues, in many placements, settings and services, including Dreadnought, CRASAC, for family support workers, the post adoption team, the Youth Service, a special needs residential school, mainstream schools, social services and nursery-aged children, both individually and with families in my private practice. My work is integrative, with a humanistic base and additional cross-paradigm psychotherapy, child development, neuroscience, dissociation and attachment and is trauma-informed; I am now completing my MA in child and adolescent psychotherapy. I offer additional parent/child work being trained in DDP, Theraplay® and Filial Play Coaching. I am also part of a team of professionals, ‘Cornwall Play Therapy Associates’, whose aim is to promote the maintenance of the highest professional standards and ethical principles in Cornwall. |
