All of the Crooked Thicket CPD is now shifted back to Anna at Twin Willows. The Crooked Thicket is on hold. Here is what we accomplished under the Crooked Thicket Project:
Our first therapy project involved aiming to support practitioners of counselling and therapies in Cornwall and beyond, with Therapists' Support Events, 'Depth of Play'. These were designed to encompass the varying needs of counsellors, play and creative arts and outdoor therapy practitioners in this rural peninsular, a long way from many opportunities for CPD, so they aimed to combine CPD with peer supervision, networking and some nurturing time being in a safe group in natural surroundings, with optional participation in some creative activities.
These days were attuned to the needs of the counsellor and therapist, which in turn aimed to enrich their own lives and self-care whilst potentially enhancing their work with clients. For counsellors who add creative aspects into their work, it gave them a chance to participate therapeutically using these media, and to receive and experience what they may offer to clients. Having access to the outdoor natural environment has also been shown in research to improve wellbeing, click here for Mind Ecotherapy research link.
Please feel free to participate by emailing in any ideas you have about therapist's needs that this project could support, to [email protected] or contact me via my work mobile on the Contact page. I will respond as soon as possible if I am not available, so please leave a voice message if I can't answer your call straight away. Thank you.

Accessing funding to provide sessions for clients was another future Crooked Thicket therapy project. However, a new CIC has arisen locally, 'Out of the Woods' for play therapy, which has funding for some sessions.
